Description

A metallurgical microscope, also known as a metallographic microscope, or simply as a metallograph, has the distinct capability of imaging a smooth metallic, ceramic, silicon wafer, or other flat polished surface. These epi-illumination instruments allow light to go through the microscope objective, and reflect off the metallic or opaque specimen, and back to the eyepieces.
